A Pledge from Chicago Pediatric Residents

June 3, 2020

As resident pediatricians, we are privileged to care for Chicago’s children. We recognize that we practice in a segregated area where systemic racism affects the health and futures of children and their families. Our city and our healthcare system need to do better, and we pledge to take sustainable action.

Today we come together to affirm that:

We stand in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
We recognize that we carry implicit biases and will work to understand and combat them.
We are committed to working as allies and fiercely advocating for the communities we serve.

Black Lives Matter.
