Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will be first up for PGY-3 sick call during your two-week block
  • Be available in-house from 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Sign into the Float pager (30130) while you are in-house
  • Be ready to help out any inpatient service that requests assistance during those hours
  • If you are activated for sick call coverage, your other Float responsibilities will be deferred for that day
  • Please be persistent in making the inpatient teams (especially MBU and Maroon) aware of your presence and availability to help throughout the day
  • Orient PGY-1 residents to the Pediatric ER as needed prior to their first shifts (list of suggested topics to review will be emailed to you) 
  • Reach out to the 4th year medical students (sub-Is) to arrange a weekly teaching session with them
